Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks Day 1
August 7th, 2012
It’s time for the Taylored Expressions August Release. I’m excited to play along with the Baker’s Dozen in some fun sneak peeks before all the new products are available in the store on Thursday morning at 8:00 am PST. In the meantime we have lots of fun new stamps and dies to show off.
Today the team will be featuring 5 new stamp sets along with some new A la Carte stamps and new Taylored Dies. I’m especially excited about the set I’m working with today because it was one that I concepted for TE and Doug brought my ideas to life in the Apple Doodle Ink collection of rubber stamps. I can’t tell you how much I love working with Taylor and how much I appreciate the opportunity to have my ideas brought to life!!
This new full sized set us called Happy Trails. And here’s the first card I made when I opened the package.
As many of you know, we have a 5th wheel trailer. It’s quite large and modern, but ever since we got it I’ve been enamored with more vintage trailers like the tear drop style you see here and the airstream you’ll see on my next project (to be shared later in the week.)
To create the scene above, I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto kraft cardstock. The mountains were stamped twice to reach across the entire card. I masked the mountains to sponge some sparkly chalk in the sky and reverse masked them to sponge some ink on them before adding Liquid Pearls for the snow. The station wagon and trailer were colored with Copics and I added Glossy Accents to the windows.. The road is made from the new Chevron Border Taylored Die set and October Afternoon 9 to 5 paper. I rounded the corners on the kraft panel and sponged white pigment ink around the edges before adding some red Doodle Twine. The whole panel was then mounted onto a kraft card base using foam tape for dimension.
This stamp set just makes me smile and I look forward to playing with it lots more! Now let’s see what the Baker’s Dozen has cooked up for today!

Jami, this is so adorable, I love the dimension on the mountains and the glossy windows! Reminds me of when we drove out to CA (from NJ none-the-less!) and the mountains we saw on the way. What a fun scene!

Oh, I remember spending many hours in the car pulling a trailer while I was growing up! I always chose to sleep under the trailer rather than inside with my parents and three sisters. 🙂 Love the trailer and car. I don’t want to refer to them as vintage because I am not old.
