Happy Friday! I hope you’ve enjoyed all the inspiration the Baker’s Dozen has provided this week with the Taylored Expressions March Release.  Everything is now available in the Fresh Out of the Oven Department and we have more samples to show you too.

Today I have a card featuring From My Window with the coordinating Arched Window Die and the Banner Stacklets 2 die set.

The scene was colored with Copics to coordinate with the patterned paper – MME 6×6 Collectable “Remarkable” pad.  The sentiment from Many Minis – Occasions was stamped on Choice Buttercream cardstock die cut with the Designer Mini Tags Taylored Die set.

We have been talking about offering a window die for so long and I’m really excited to finally have it in my hot little hands.  It’s even more exciting to have such a perfect coordinating stamp set of scenes!  Didn’t Nancy do such an awessome job with that?  The team created some amazing samples this week.  Be sure to check them all out in the TE gallery!

And now let’s see what the Baker’s Dozen has cooked up for today!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead.  This week kind of kicked my butt, so I’m looking forward to a little down time.

Happy Tuesday! Today is the first day of sneak peeks and release week for Taylored Expressions.  The Baker’s Dozen has some adorable stuff to show you and I’m happy to play along today.  I love the Graphic Greetings series that Taylor has been creating.  The new one this month is “Thankful” and it’s a must-have.  I know I’m going to get a ton of use out of this A la Carte stamp.  Lookie…I already have!

My birthday was one month ago yesterday.  How awful is it that I haven’t gotten my thank you notes out yet?  Well, they can go out now.  I had a little thanks-fest at my stamp table this past weekend. I had fun creating these 8 cards with a very limited array of supplies.

What you see pictured here, plus some black cardstock, TE Choice Snow White cardstock and various rhinestones and pearls is everything I needed for these cards.  In fact, I only used 4 sheets of patterned paper from the Doodlebug Hello Spring 6×6 pad. And do you spy a new Taylored Die? Yep.  That’s the new Open Scallop Border.  I have a feeling I will be using it A LOT!

Here are a few individual shots of some of the cards.

Design Tip #1: Since I knew the design would be simple and the sentiment is the star of the show, I chose to heat emboss it.  What stamper doesn’t remember the absolute magic that occured the first time you witnessed heat embossing.  I still think it gives that little extra wow to a simple card!  I keep my most used embossing powders in little plastic containers (like the on in the picture above – under the ink pad).  That way I can just use a spoon right over the container and never have a mess to worry about.

Design Tip #2: Throw away any black embossing powder you might have!  Embossing Buddy or not, it’s almost impossible to avoid stray specks of that nasty black stuff.  I much prefer using a black pigment ink (SU Craft used here) with clear embossing powder.

Design Tip #3:  When using these Graphic Greetings try die cutting with Spellbinders Rectangles.  The largest die in the Classic Rectangles Small set is the perfect size.  It might seem like extra work to die cut all of the sentiment panels, but I find it easier than trying to get them trimmed straight any other way.

Design Tip #4: Sometimes it can be a bit of a struggle to find just the right adhesive for narrow strips like this new Open Scallop Border or the edges of the TE Cutting Plates.  I found that the Plus Pen Tape Runner is perfect with it’s 1/6″ strip of adhesive.  It comes in a bundle with refills and a larger Spin Eco tape runner.  I’ve been using both of them quite a bit lately and I really like them.  The bundle is a great value too!

Now it’s time to see what the Baker’s Dozen has cooked up!  We are welcoming a new Guest Designer and I know you’re going to love her!
