Season’s Best Cookbook Folio

My Pampered Chef party is tonight and I wanted to make a special door prize with one of the PC Season’s Best Recipe booklets. The booklets are 32 pages long and only $1. Yep only $1!! I picked up a few at the last PC party I attended with the intention of doing something to make them into little gifts. I was pretty crunched for time this morning, but I’m pretty happy with what I came up with.
Thanks goodness for the Color Challenge at SCS today to give me the perfect jumping off point – Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky and Ruby Red. I started with a 12 x 12 piece of textured Wild Wasabi cardstock and folded it into a folio to accomodate the cookbook and a note pad. Finished size is 5.75 x 9.
I don’t have much time to give all the details right now, but it’s really pretty simple. The front is decorated with Snow Burst by SU and one of my favorite Ronnie girls (available at eclectic Paperie). I needed to find a way to keep the left hand section of the fold up flap closed since there wasn’t enough room to seal it off with sticky strip or anything, so I made this tab from a piece of Soft Sky cardstock and rounded the ends with a circle punch. On the front I added a Build-a-Brad – those things are so cool!
Another cool thing – the little Making Memories tag hanging on the front. I got a package of these two-sided squishy epoxy tags (Making Memories Sweets – St. Nick) at Target and I can’t wait to have more time to play with them. The one on the folio says “enjoy the season”.

THIS IS TOO PERFECT! I bet whoever gets one will squeal with delight, I know I would!! What a wonderful hostess you are, I used to sell PC and I quit to become a SU! demo 5 years ago. They’re fun parties. Hope you get lots of free stuff!

That is really cool! I mean seriously very cool. I’m not sure what that little Pampered Chef book is but it would be GREAT with one of those little recipe books they have in the check out line. You know the ones? Is that what the little PC book is? No mater what it is I love this project. 🙂

Jami that is a great idea!!! I am thinking of how I could alter it and use it to make something to give at Christmas time…
