TE Baker’s Dozen – WOO HOO!!!

September 3rd, 2008

WooHoo!!!  Have you heard the news?  My exceptionally talented friend Taylor has her own line of rubber stamps – Stamp a Sweet Impression.

And as if that’s not exciting enough I’m a member of her design team the Baker’s Dozen!!!  The actual release is Thursday night at 9pm Pacific (midnight EST), but today I have a sneak peek!  It feels soooooo good to finally get to share this with all of you!

witch-sneak-peek-jami-sept-08-custom.jpg

This sweet little cupcake witch was created with the Trick or Sweet stamp set and her kitty is from Frightful Night.  All the paper, cardstock, ribbon and glitter are from the Halloween Key Ingredients package.  The witch was colored with Copic markers and cut out with a circle Coluzzle allowing me to leave her broom and the tip of her hat outside the circle.  It’s hard to see in the photo, but there is black glitter around the scallop circle and the black dots on the card were created with little globs of Crystal Effects covered with the black glitter (allow to dry throuroughly before trying to shake off excess glitter!)

In case you’re wondering, the best Copic matches to the Halloween Key Ingredients package are BV04 Blueberry, YR15 Pumpkin Yellow and either YG03 Yellow Green or YG25 Celedon Green.  Taylor is not carrying Copics, but you can get them at eclectic Paperie.

I am so excited for Taylor and her new venture that I am almost speechless!  LOL – *speechless* – that’ll be the day, huh?  Well, ok, I did say almost!  Ever since I got my hands on these sets I have not been able to stop stamping with them!  Let me just share a few of the things I’m loving.

  • the scrumptious super deeply etched pink rubber.  I don’t know about you but I’m an old fashioned rubber fan, and this is the good stuff Baby!  It’s perfectly deeply etched so I have not had even one problem with getting a good clear impression!

  • die cut *happy sigh*.  There’s no trimming to be done.  When these stamps arrive at your house, you just open the package and pop them on an acrylic block and get stamping!  They’re already on the cling cushion and EVERYTHING!

  • storage – ok I can’t tell you about that yet, have to wait for the boss to do the reveal tomorrow, but let me just say it’s FANTASTIC!

  • Key Ingredients bake up endless recipes of sweet results.  I cannot believe how many cards I have already stamped and yet feel I haven’t made a dent in the Key Ingredients packages I got.  They are adorable, so full of possibilities and a great value!  I love having all the coordinated stuff right at my fingertips!

  • Cute Cute Cute!  Need I say more?  Wait till you see all three sets in their entirety!  WOW!

Taylor is a wonderful friend and I truly couldn’t be happier to be involved with her and Taylored Expressions/Stamp a Sweet Impression.  If you haven’t already been to her blog today, please hop on over to Taylored Expressions for more info and to the meet the rest of the Baker’s Dozen Senior Team Members.  You’ll want to see what SASI creations everyone has cooked up – I know I do!

Be sure to join me Thursday night/Friday morning for the official release and be ready to order because I have a feeling this stuff will be flying off the shelves!  I’ll have another TE/SASI card ready to share at 9pm Pacific.  In the meantime I’ll just be here bouncing off the walls in anticipation!

Copic Matches to SU

September 2nd, 2008

Quite some time ago my friend Leann and I sat down with Stampin’ Up! cardstock, a full chart of colored Copic swatches (thanks to Joy) and a couple of OTT Lites.  That night we came up with a list of what we felt were the best matches of Copic markers to SU cardstocks.  We used cardstock rather than ink or markers because we felt it was most likely we would color images and want to layer with cardstock or SU dp and not as likely we would actually have something stamped in SU ink that needed to be matched.  Ever since we came up with these matches almost a year ago, I’ve wanted to make a chart where I could color in a box and attach a small piece of cardstock.  I finally got my chart made and I want to share it with you.  You’ll need to print it out on the cardstock you most often use for coloring with your Copics.  It’s 5 pages.  In the box next to the SU color name you can attach a little piece of that color of cardstock.  Then in the next box you can color in with the Copic when you get it.  I hope you find it helpful.

If you’d like to share this chart I ask that you please direct people to this post on my blog and not post the chart itself on your blog, in any forum, or anywhere else without my express permission.  If you find it helpful please leave me a comment and let me know!  🙂

I just have to share something fun with y’all.  Look what came in my 3rd shipment of Nutrisystems food on Friday.

Curt had told me that if I would log my weight loss on the NS website they would send me a bear for every 10 pounds, but I never really looked to see what he was talking about.  I kept thinking it would probably be some dumb sticker or picture of a bear, but no…this cute little guy came in my order!  I know it’s silly, but I was totally EXCITED!!!  His name is Pound!

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to come by tomorrow for some excitement you don’t want to miss (or at least I don’t want you to miss – LOL)!

Labor Day Happy Hello!

September 1st, 2008

Happy Labor Day!  I hope you’ve had a nice long weekend.  I hadn’t stamped since Thursday and I was experiencing withdrawals so I made it a point to get to my stamp table for a little while today.  I have new SU goodies that were begging to be used.

Here’s a simple and happy card featuring some of my new stuff:  Beautiful Borders, Georgia Peach dp, and Filigree Brads.  Pink and yellow is one of all-time favorite color combos (in fact those are the main two colors of my stamp room) so I am loving this Georgia Peach paper!  The image from Beautiful Borders was stamped with Regal Rose craft ink and heat embossed with clear ep.  The scallop edge punch was used on that image panel and then the panel was layered onto Old Olive cardstock.  The sentiment from Lots of Thoughts (retired) was stamped directly onto the dp and somehow turned out slightly crooked despite the use of a stamp-a-majig – oh well.  A new filigree flower was attached with a pink rhinestone brad.  Olive poly twill was added along with some faux stitching before attaching all the layers together.

We’re off to a local independent burger joint to have a cheater’s meal of burger and fries…I mean hey – it’s a holiday!  It’s going to be a very fun week around here, so be sure to stop by often if you can!
