All of the new February stamps and dies were released at Taylored Expressions yesterday.  I hope you’ve had a chance to check them out.  Today I’m joining the Baker’s Dozen in one last day to show everything off.  The samples this week have really been incredible and I’m tickled to get to play along.  The projects I have to show you today feature favorite products of the February Release.

My first project is a set of three 5″ square cards featuring the Silhouette Stems (1, 2, and 3) Dies along with the mini stamp set He is Risen.  These dies and sentiments work so well together.  I decided to try my hand at a very simple set of cards that I hope to turn into framed art to put up in the church office where I work.  I have just the spot for them.

To create the background panels, I began with pieces of white shimmery cardstock.  I spritzed them with water and patted dry, so they were damp.  Then I brayered on ink from a Baby Powder Kaleidacolor ink pad.  Am I the only one who still owns a bunch of these?  There were my absolute favorite thing when I first started stamping many years ago.  I have quite a few in my collection.  Once the ink was brayered on, I took a large  damp water color brush and ran it over the ink to blend it a little better.  Once the panel was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I rounded the corners and mounted the inked panel onto a black square panel.  I die cut each of the blooms from black cardstock and adhered them.

The completed panel was adhered to a Choice Snow White cardbase.  I’m thinking I will either put these in square black frames or possibly adhere them to square canvases.

These are so CAS (unusual for me) and I just love the way they turned out!  Be sure to check out the current TE Special which is to purchase all three of these dies as a bundle at a discount.

My second project is also intended for the church office.  It is a very simple framed piece which features the Graphic Greeting – Redeemer A la Carte stamp.

I’ve been dying to try out the chalkboard technique with the TE Graphic Greetings series and this was the perfect chance.  I added a little decorative element to the top and bottom (from the set In the Word).  The patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Hello Spring 6×6 pad.  I can’t wait to play with those papers some more!

I couldn’t quite eliminate the glare on the glass, but you get the idea.  I’m anxious to also make some Easter cards with this stamp.  Taylor did such an awesome job on it!

I bought the Redeemer stamp too, and am looking forward to using it! The chalkboard look is so in right now so that’s the direction I’m going to try! 🙂 Hopefully I will have time to play soon. thanks for sharing the picture frame ideas. I think too often we forget to display our work where WE get to see it! 🙂
