Da Man’s Birthday

April 9th, 2008

Happy Birthday to Da Man, SCS Fearless Leader Daven! I’m guessing no other MAN on the planet receives as many handmade birthday cards as Daven. LOL!

Cardstock: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore

Stamps: Block Party, Dotted

Other: Black Gingham Ribbon, distresser tool

I’m in the middle of a huge Clean Sweep project throughout my house and one of the most daunting aspects has been sorting through boxes of stuff pulled out of my stamp room when the new cabinet came a few months back. I’ve been crafting my whole life and I have lots of random craft *stuff*. In the late ’80’s I was really into shirt painting. Yesterday I came across my chart of paints.

It made me giggle because I have been saying all along that Stickles and Liquid Pearls are just shirt paints from the ’80’s with a new name. In fact the Polymark brand of *liquid pearls* I have been using is on my paint chart from almost 20 years ago. Everything old is new again. *chuckle* I also found some pretty hysterical pics of friends wearing shirts I had painted for them. Not sure how they would feel about me posting some of them so I’ll hold off for now.

SCS Blogs are currently experiencing some technical difficulties – our categories and blog rolls are missing at the moment, but the problem is being worked on.

Thanks for stopping by.

I think the same thing about Stickles and LIquid Pearls! My mom used to decorate shirts and sell them, so we had tons of that stuff around the house!

Love your man card! I had to smile when you mentioned how your guy gets lots of handmade cards. Last night I made a card for my DH and handed it to him. He didn’t know what to do with it. Just sorta looked at it and I could see his wheels turning as he was trying to figure out exactly what he was supposed to say. When I took it back telling him I wanted to take a picture of it he looked so relieved. It cracked me up! lol
