To help ease the tension of what seems like an endless wait for some for the new SU catty I have a little Blog Candy to offer.

blog-candy-ready-june-07.jpg

This fun little package includes:  2 studio g clear stamp sets from Michael’s plus one acrylic block, a set of 26 fun floral epoxy stickers, a roll of pink patterned Sweet & Sassy ribbon, my very favorite tiny flower punch, and assortment of white chipboard flowers and a super fun assortment of all sorts of primas.

To enter to win this package please leave a comment with your name on this post telling me the one thing you most hope to see or look forward to seeing in the new SU catty – you’re *ONE-absolute-TOP-can’t-wait-to-see* thing!  One entry per person please. This post will be open for comments until Wednesday 6/27 at 8:00pm PST.  The winner will be posted Wednesday night or Thursday morning – so be sure to check back.

I have been asked by several people to explain more about the Build a Brad set in the new catty.  I have to say that sometimes our catalog is just a little short in the explanation/description department, but I’ll tell you what I can.  For 9.95 you get a set of either Antique Brass or Pewter brad bases and acrylic bubbles (24 each) packaged in a nice little tin.  Using Designer Paper or a stamped image, punch out a 1/2″ circle to build your own brad.  The picture of the set is quite small.  I am guessing that it is something like those 7Gypsies bracelets so many of us have made, but I’m not certain.  I am a brad-aholic though – so whatever it is I know I need it!

I had hoped to stamp today, but it just didn’t happen.  I did however sort some more of my retired stuff deciding what to keep and what to sell.  Oh and I thought about stamping – does that count?  Hopefully I’ll have a creation to share in the next day or so.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck in the drawing.  🙂

Thanks again Jami for posting a pic of your “messy” desk. I think from the things that I’ve read so far is the birthday set where you build your own picture. I’ve been eyeing Eat Cake for a while and was waiting to see if it was going to be cut. I almost bought it the other day, but now this other set sounds intriguing!

  59. Angel Says:

Thinking of stamping definitely counts. The idea is half the work! Great candy and I am hoping there isn’t too much I have to have cuz I can’t afford it! 🙂 BUT, I do hope they have markers for the in-colors this year!

  60. Regina Davis Says:

Holy Guacamole! That’s an awesome candy offer to tide us over until we get the new catalog. I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that a stamp set of big, pretty swirls with extra like snowflakes, blossoms and leaves will make it into the catalog.

  75. April Says:

Does “THE WHOLE THING” count? If not, then I think I’d say the wheel that goes with Doodle This and the new Simply Scrappin’ Kits. It was the new build-a-family set (don’t know name), but someone on SCS gave us a sneek peak of that one.

  76. Jan Ferris Says:

I would love to see a new fish set on the order of Fish Frolics, which I just love. I also would like to see more realistic sets rather than cartoonish. The suspense is killing me!

  97. Sara J Says:

I am liking some of the flourishes with the flowers, so cannot wait to see what they are offering for that. thanks for the opportunity!

  98. Sheryl Says:

I’ve been looking forward to seeing any new accessories – ribbon, punches, brads, and such. I just received my catalog in the mail TODAY and was very pleased with many of the things offered. I also like the layout of the pages much better than previous catties. They have it organized into a page of “adhesives”, “applicators”, “punches”, “coloring tools”, “embossing supplies”. It seems like it’s better organized and a lot easier on the eyes, especially for newcomers to the art who don’t know what a lot of the stuff is actually used for!

  99. Carol Says:

Hi Jami… 98 responses so far! Oh my goodness! We all need a HOBBY! Anyway, even though I have no more room for RIBBON in my ribbon rack, or PUNCHES in my over the door shoe holder gone punch holder, I can’t wait to see any new PUNCHES or RIBBON. Oh yeah… and designer paper… oh yeah… and…… 🙂
    Carol

  100. Lorraine Says:

I hope to see something along th lines of a set for someone who has a child that is disabled….Like autism….Maybe a puzzle piece with some sentiments and such….but I know they will never come out with that…I do like the new style boroque they have done….so those are a must…Vintage

    Lorraine

  101. Doris Says:

I’m hoping for some new punches and flower stamps!

  102. Normat Says:

I’m looking forward to seeing the accessories and tools. In particular some
of the punches and especially the scalloped versions.

  103. andeecate Says:

James, that is some pretty sweet candy! I can’t wait to see the textured cardstock IRL. It’s gonna be awesome I bet!

  104. Barbara S. (FL) Says:

I’m sure hoping for some dynamite floral sets to replace my favs. That build a brad doohicky sounds wonderful — Too bad they’re having quality issues and it won’t be available on July 1.

  107. Pat Says:

I can’t wait to see what new punches they have included. Thanks for offering some really nice blog candy while we are patiently waiting to view the new SU catalog!

    Pat

  108. Elaine Says:

    Hi Jami.
I am most looking forward to the NEW STAMP SETS!! I know we’ll have punches and embellis but I love our stamps!!! I think the photo corner punch is already on my list! 🙂

  109. Bonnie aka raduse Says:

I was wondering about that build a brad set, and no the catty doesn’t explain it well at all. I’ll peruse it during lunch today. The one thing I really wanted is in there, flowers so they’re match our colors. Not crazy about the dying them, but beggers can’t be choosers.

  110. Maria Johnson Says:

    Hi Jami,

Thanks for a great blog..and wonderful candy!!! I have not been one of the lucky ones to recieve a catalog yet but I am hoping that there is a scallop punch in there. I have seen so many wonderful cards done with the scallop punches. I have also heard about the build a brad and am pretty interested to see what that is all about.

Crossing my fingers to win the blog candy and looking forward to seeing more of your great inspiration. Thanks, Maria

  111. Sarah Says:

Thanks for this fun contest 🙂 I can’t wait to see the NEW Boatloads of Love set that you mentioned in your blog! I LOVE the Loads of Love set, so I am sure that Boatloads will be just as great! Thanks for the posts about the catalog…I haven’t gotten mine yet, so your blog helped to ease my anxiousness for the time being 🙂

  112. Denise Says:

    Jami,
Thanks for posting this!!! & for this fun contest!

I’m planning to sign up to become a demo as soon as the new catty arrives so I can see what they’re recommending in the starter kits.

The retired list pretty much eliminated my entire stamp collection, so I’m anxious about having to invest a ton of money to get the current stamps and accessories.

Any advice on what stamps to order in my starter kit or tips for getting started? I’d really appreciate the wisdom of a seasoned stamping sister!

  113. Deepa Says:

I’m hoping that they’ll have a few more multi-purpose sets similar to “year round fun” that are really versatile and cover all the potential occasions you might need over a year. The smaller stamps are perfect for making coordinating backgrounds when you need ‘just a little something’ to finish off a card.

  114. Dawn Thomas Says:

The one thing that i am really looking for in the new cattie, are the new scalloped punches, love the versatility and how easy they are to incorporate into a card.

Still waiting for cattie…..anyday now i would think!

    Dawn T

  115. Jennifer S Says:

I can’t wait to see the new ribbon in the catty. I am a ribbon junkie, and need to have it all the time!!

    Jennifer S

  116. Denise T Says:

I’m anxious to see the western sets someone mentioned, as well as the lighthouse/sailing ship set. I need more masculine sets!

  117. Leslie Brown Says:

I love your blog and subscribe to it.
I heard the new catty does not have a vintage section, so am interested in seeing what sets are developed to replace it.
I love ribbon, so will definitely have to get more new ribbon.

    Thanks for sharing!
    Leslie

  118. Suetta Bartley Says:

    Hi Jami,

The one thing I’m looking forward to in the new SU catalog is to see if they came up with a Sun-Ripened III set from my suggestion years ago, so you could essentially make up the 9 Fruits of the Spirit. I’m sure it isn’t in there, but it would be wonderful to see my suggestion make it into print for myself and others to purchase.

Thank you for hosting a great contest! Your Blog Candy is very nice!!

    Sincerely,
    Suetta

  119. Teryl Says:

That blog candy looks “yummy”! I’d have to say I’m most looking forward to SU’s newest punches. Love those things–can’t get enough.

  120. Granny Hawkins Says:

I am just plain outright excited about everything.

  121. Jessica W Says:

This will be my first “new catty” experience as I am a new stamper. I’d love to see some new Sympathy expressions and am excited to see new papers and tools… though for me most things are still pretty new.

Your blog is great by the way! 🙂

  122. Rebecca Phillips Says:

I am so excited about seeing the new catty! The one thing I want to look for is BLING! I love lots of bling! Anything shinny and sparkley, to add to pages and cards is my thing! Bling is my thing!

  123. Amie Says:

    Dragonflies, dragonflies, and more dragonflies!

  124. Deborah Burgess Says:

I am chomping at the bit to see the new catty!!!!!!! I am countng down the hours!!!!!!!

I am looking forward to some new colors of ink. I just love SU sets. I hope to see some additional inspirational sets. I think I have worn out the two different sets I have. Everyone comments on how the meanings touch them during their difficult tribulations.

  125. Melissa (SCS: stampin_melissa) Says:

Oh Jami, how can I pick just ONE TOP thing I want to see???? Seriously I want to see it ALL! *deep breath* Okay, I’d have to say that I want to -see- accessories like the brads and ribbon. I am such a visual person, I’ve read reviews, but I want to see for myself. I know I only have to wait until tomorrow when my catties arrive, but . . . . . can I really survive that long????? 😉

You are so sweet to offer blog candy to help distract us! Hugs to you!

  126. Lisa C. Says:

I can not wait to see what punches are offered, I love punches, I even got a shoe rack to hold all my punches!

  127. Karen (SCS name linneahay) Says:

Boy, this is hard to pin down. I am so much just looking forward to getting the new catalog that I did not know exactly what excited me the most. After thinking about it, and reading your comments on how you are a brad-aholic, I too realize that I’m like that. I buy brads everywhere I go and buy them online as well. So, brads and ribbon will excite me. Oh! I almost failed to mention my other obsession, punches. I love punches! I cannot wait to see what new punches they have. Thank you for this opportunity to release some tension!

  128. Angie Says:

WOW! awesome blog candy! The thing I’d like to most see in the new catty is a masculine set that I can use to make cards for my dad, uncles, and brother!
    thanks for this opp!

  129. PJBstamper Says:

The one over the top, desperately needed thing I need to see it is the page where Shelly wrote a personal note to me saying I was getting one of everything new in the catty absolutely free!!

Well, it’s not my fault you didn’t mention reality in your request for comments! (big grin)

  130. Nancy (crooked river) Says:

Thanks for the catty preview! There’s no one thing I really want to see, but I can’t wait to see some of the sets you mentioned here. Flowers, vintage – that’s me!

  131. nanalady Says:

I too appreciate you sharing w/ all of us ‘ladies in waiting’. I hope to see more scrapbooking kits! There is a large untapped target market out there! Just keep stampin’ & scrappin’

  132. Sandy Kay Says:

  134. Tracy Harford Says:

Yummy candy! I think I would have to say the scallop punch! Thanks!

  135. Mo Moss Says:

As usual, your blog is so interesting. Thanks for all of your insights. I can’t wait to see and purchase all of the new colors. I have heard nothing but good things about them. I am going to order the colors first before anything. I always have. It is an obsession for me. I should have received my new catalog today, just did not go get it from my demonstrator. Too much going on, can you believe that??????

  136. Ann C (SCS Stamps&cars) Says:

I would love to see some new innovative punches. I hear there might be photo corners……I hope that they have some extra interest than just straight cuts though. The Brad maker sounds interesting…..I’m such a brad and eyelet horder! And fourishes…….I want some more nice curly flourishes! Sorry,,,,, I guess that wasn’t one thing but would I be a good stamper if I wanted only one thing? 😉 SCS – Stamps&cars
